2018 ROSLINDALE OPEN STUDIOS

The 14th Annual Roslindale Open Studios will be Saturday & Sunday, October 20th & 21st, 2018 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. This will be my 7th year participating in my home studio, which is listed as site #17 on this year’s map.

This has been a year of transition for me. It seems I’ve focused more on the healing arts than the visual arts. Most recently, I’ve dabbled in the art of craft and home improvement and explored the art of teaching art. I created a course called “Art Without Anxiety” to teach at an LGBT summer camp for adults, and realized that just about everyone has some sort of “artistic wounding” from childhood, some so damaging that they’ve completely abandoned their innate artistic selves. It was quite rewarding to watch people explore the fun of art and experience the process of creating rather than focusing on a particular end product……sort of like life, it’s about the journey, not the destination.  I discovered that not only can I teach, but that I’m good at it and I loved it.

I look forward to welcoming my family, friends, and my fellow Roslindalians into my studio again this year. Don’t forget to stop by my neighbors studio a few doors down from me.  Be well and have a happy fall.

2017 ROSLINDALE OPEN STUDIOS

The 13th Annual Roslindale Open Studios will be Saturday & Sunday, October 21st & 22nd, 2017 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. This will be my 6th year participating in my home studio, which is listed as site #15 on this year’s map.

Once again, I need to remember how to update my website with photos of my new work. I’m still exploring my “Looking Into Darkness” series, as well as seascapes, but I found myself pulled more towards etching and printmaking this year.

Every fall I look forward to welcoming folks into my studio, showing my art, talking about process, and sharing a cup of hot cider with family, friends, and my fellow Roslindalians.
